Who is The Betta Group?
The Betta Group was formed over 30 years ago and originally traded as Betta Fencing. It soon became apparent to Betta Fencing that its future lay with the security fencing market. Betta Fencing bought the assets of Fencetec Ltd and began to trade using Fencetec as a trading name. Fencetec was formally known as Berkshire Fencing and had inherited a range of Berkshire Fencing Acoustic Barriers. These environmental barriers, commonly known as Berkshire Barriers, have continued to be developed and are now branded as Betta Absorptive Barrier and Betta Reflective barrier.

Closeboard Fencing

Closeboard Fencing is an enormously popular fence, a robust and long lasting fence. It is built from different products including Arris Rails and Gravelboards which support Feather Edge Boards. Arris Rails are triangular in shape and Gravelboards can be made from timber or Concrete, Concrete Gravelboards are used with Concrete Posts. It is used for providing both privacy and security in domestic and commercial situations. It is assembled kit form and once the basic erection techniques are understood it is an easy to erect Fence and offers the flexibility to overcome many of the problems routinely encountered with fencing projects. Closeboard Fencing is a Strong Fence, a long lasting Fence, an attractive Fence. Feather Edge Boards are the main parts fixed to the Arris Rails. AVS fencing sells Arris rails and Gravelboards and Feather edge boards.

Lap Panels are a very popular type of wooden fence often used in rear gardens to provide privacy. The initial capital cost of lap panels or wooden fence panels is the lowest of all wooden fence options available, however life expectancy is less than fences such as Closeboard. Lap panels or fence panels are not suitable for exposed locations or sloping ground. Cutting the last fence panel or lap panel to length is fairly straightforward. A range of trellis panels may be added above the lap panel. Trellis panels may be used on garden fencing to let in more light and give a pleasing garden design. Timber fence posts sometimes known as wooden fence posts or concrete fence posts may be used.

European panels

Continental Panels are really popular fencing products. They offer an architectural appearance, real architectural fencing for the garden designer, designer fence looks added to the fence at a very reasonable price. Continental Panels are ideal for use within the garden in conjunction with landscaping projects. They are suited to garden design projects. A large number of garden designers use continental panels in their garden designs. Various styles are available and the continental name is generic for this whole range. Timber Palisade

Timber Palisade is a robust fence that gives vision through it, also known as picket fencing. A range of applications and the variable fence height. The fence height is chosen to match the application required. Palisade fencing can be rounded top, sometimes called round top, flat top or pointed top. It may be used to demarcate areas and control access for small children and dogs using the lower heights available of 900 - 1200mm. This means that it is often used for a childrens play area and is an ideal children fence or child proof fence. When used with a round top palisade fence or picket fencing it is even more suitable for use around children. Palisade fencing is also ideal for dog fencing. Heights of 1500 - 1800mm can be used for boundary fencing where full privacy is not required. Timber fence posts sometimes known as wooden fence posts are normally used to erect this fencing.

Post & Rail

Post and Rail can allow you to enclose an area and if you have an attractive view from your property and still retain this feature. Mesh like chainlink fencing mesh can be added to post and rail to contain pets and animals. The name post and rail fencing refers to chestnut post and rail fencing as well as sawn post and rail fencing. A number of differing styles are available and there is 3 rail post and rail fencing and 2 rail post and rail fencing. Post and rail fencing is often used with horses or as rural fencing. Post and rail fencing using chestnut rails is suitable for use as rural fencing. Rural fencing is a term used to describe all types of agricultural fencing and garden fencing which looks good in a rural area. Timber fence posts sometimes known as wooden fence posts are normally used to erect this fencing. Do not confuse Post & Rail fencing with Chestnut Paling Fence which is a Fence on a roll consisting of vertical Chestnut Spiles fixed between twisted wire horizontals which act as rails but need fixing between posts. This Chestnut Paling can be used as temporary fencing.

Chainlink Fencing

Chainlink fencing is a wire mesh woven fencing which is used for garden fencing or security fencing. Chainlink fencing may also be used for tennis courts and playground fencing. Chainlink fencing available in green PVC or galvanised finish. AVS Fencing has all the fencing supplies needed for chainlink fencing including steel angle iron posts and concrete fence posts. Concrete fence posts are very popular.

Chainlink Fencing provides a physical barrier while allowing full vision. The best known application is for tennis courts but this product is actually more frequently used for a wide range of other uses, these include pet fencing in rear gardens particularly dog fencing, play areas for children and security fencing. Chainlink fencing is a fencing system that allows the user to choose both the mesh, in terms of appearance and weight, and also the posts to support it. Entrance gates

This means all small gates of approx. 1 metre wide and of various heights. Styles of gates normally match the fencing erection. Therefore gates are available for Closeboard fencing, lap panels, picket fencing sometimes known as palisade fencing. Gates for side entrance are wooden gates. Field gates & timber gates

Field gates are popular entrance gates and are constructed in 2 main styles from different timbers to suit usage; we can supply hardwood gates which cost more than softwood gates. Hardwood gates are more suitable for driveway gates.

Iroko hardwood is more popular than oak hardwood gates. Galvanised tubular steel gates or galvanised gates are available for agricultural fencing.. These Field Gates are held in stock in various sizes 12' wide is still the most popular.

WELDED MESH FENCING

Weldmesh or welded mesh fencing is used for security fencing or in applications requiring a robust fence. Weldmesh fencing cannot be cut as easily as Chainlink fencing. Weldmesh fencing is also popular for ball stop or ball court fencing. Weldmesh fencing is available in 25m rolls and panels. The Betta Group have stocks of weldmesh fencing available in green and blavk PVC (vinyl fencing) or galvanised finish.

Weldmesh security fencing on a roll which comprises galvanised weldmesh and PVC coated weldmesh sometimes know as weld mesh. 25m rolls of weld mesh is the most common roll size. 1.8m high weldmesh is very popular. 1.8m high weldmesh is a general purpose height for perimeter fencing. Ball court fencing is also often weldmesh, sometimes because of the height of ball court or ball stop fencing. Several lifts of weldmesh are used to achieve the height required. 2.4m high weldmesh is used for security fencing. Security fencing constructed using weldmesh is more secure and resists vandalism more than Chainlink fencing. Green PVC coated is very popular and RAL 6005 is the colour used. RAL 6005 is the main Green colour used in weldmesh security fencing. Weldmesh is normally stocked in 50 x 50mm mesh 50 x 50mm mesh is the most popular 50mm x 50mm is not the only size 50mm x 50mm can be changed to 75 x 25mm for some security fencing work.

BRITISH STANDARD 1722

BS 1722 covers fencing BS 1722 is in a number of parts for example BS 1722 part 5 covers closeboard fencing. British standards give specifications for most types of fencing.

STOCK FENCING OR STOCK FENCE

Stock fence is used as agricultural fencing to provide stock fencing for sheep, cattle or pigs. There are many types; the most common is C8/80/15, which is a medium grade. C8/80/15 is available in large quantities in 50m rolls. Agricultural fencing using stock fence will provide great fencing for sheep, cattle or pigs.

AGRICULTURAL FENCING

Agricultural fencing consists of all types of rural fencing particularly wire fencing like barbed wire fencing and stock fencing also known as stock netting. Agricultural fencing not only covers cattle fencing, sheep fencing, pig fencing but also fencing for llamas and alpacas deer fencing and ostrich fencing.

DEER FENCING

Deer Fence Netting for general purpose deer fencing we recommend deer fencing L23/200/15. Our most popular deer fencing has a height of 2000mm or 2m high. 2m deer fencing will act as a deer control barrier or deer control fencing as it is sometimes known. Deer control fencing is used to keep deer out of woods and gardens. Tornado deer fencing is also supplied, tornado deer fencing is available in a number of different styles. High tensile deer fencing means that the posts can be spaced further apart. Using high tensile deer fencing can speed up erection of the fence.

BARBED WIRE FENCING

Barbed wire fencing is produced from barbed wire which is supplied in coils of 200m long. It is very popular for agricultural fencing producing fencing for cattle and other farm animals as well as a security fence security topping. Barbed wire is used in farm fencing. Farm fencing is used to describe any type of agricultural fencing. Barbed wire has a galvanised finish for long life. Razor wire can be used in place or in addition to barbed wire as a security topping and can be used above a whole range of metal security fencing..

RAILWAY SLEEPERS

Railway sleepers are very popular in landscaping and have many uses The Betta Group can supply huge quantities of railway sleepers, both new railway sleepers and second hand railway sleepers. Railway sleepers may be used for soil retention and drive edging. Care must be taken with creosoted second hand railway sleepers to avoid uses, which would mean regular skin contact. Railway sleepers are 8'6" long and 10" wide and vary in thickness from 5" to 6". This size is ideal for many landscaping projects.

NEW RAILWAY SLEEPERS

Landscapers have recognised many possible uses for railway sleepers to be used in gardens and landscape projects where creosote treated railway sleepers or second hand railway sleepers are not suitable. The Betta Group supply new railway sleepers which are not treated with creosote or creosoted, these are most popular as new oak railway sleepers, but are also available as new tanalised railway sleepers. Landscaping contractors have found railway sleepers very useful in landscaping projects.

Betta Tornado heads add a clearly visible yet attractive deterrent without compromising the exceptional level of security achieved with either of the systems. The three dimensional spear is formed, during manufacture, in the actual vertical infill bars offering several advantages over the addition of separate finial heads (as used with traditional railings).
Betta Tornado heads are currently available with only the Betta DX system.

Betta Security Toppings provide the perfect deterrent for applications where protection or containment is of paramount importance.

The range of toppings are designed to minimize the risk of attempted intrusion or escape through scaling therefore increasing the level of security achieved through other forms of physical protection.

The systems adaptable bracketry and fixings allow the toppings to be fitted to existing fences and walls or provide the perfect addition to our range of fencing systems.

BETTA BARB TOPPING

The traditional method of preventing climbing, Betta Barb Topping, uses 3no rows of strained twin strand barbed wire secured to either cranked or straight vertical extensions. Zinc plated angle brackets are used for the addition of the topping to existing fencing or walls and integral post extensions are usually provided when used with new fence installations.

Double-sided cranking 'Y' extensions allow 6no rows of barbed wire to be installed (3no to the front crank and 3no to the back crank).

BETTA RAZOR TOPPINGS

Betta Razor toppings are the most effective deterrent to prevent attempted scaling.
A choice of three styles, all incorporating pressed razor prongs, can be used in conjunction with or in place of Betta Barb topping. All three styles have a protective zinc coating to ensure a long life.

Unclipped Razor

Used in place of Betta Barb wire, the wires are strained and secured to the same extensions in individual rows to form a razor sharp deterrent.

Concertina Razor

Secured directly to the top of high-level fencing or attached to cranked, straight or 'Y' Betta Barb toppings, the razor wire is coiled and clipped to concertina out forming the most formidable security topping. This option is suited for high security applications and is offered in various diameters ranging from 450mm.

BETTA RAPTOR

Favoured by local authorities, over wire security toppings, Betta Raptor System provides a rotating anti-scale barrier that dramatically reduces the risk of attempted climbing.

Used in single, double or multiple horizontal rows, the Raptor sections are produced from a fire resistant, high impact durable plastic and are available in a variety of colours allowing the system to have minimal visual impact on its surroundings.

Four spinning claw pods and razor sharp fin spikes per independently rotating raptor unit minimize hand hold possibilities whilst a wide variety of steel bracketry allows the system to adapt to any location.

Betta Sports Systems cater for a wide variety of applications ranging from 1.0m high childrens playground fencing to 25m high ball stop fencing for golf courses. The systems are designed to be vandal resistant and efficient manufacturing processes ensure that they are long lasting at an affordable cost.

BETTA PRO SPORTS MESH

Ideally suited to high impact ball court, multi purpose games and school applications Betta Pro Mesh Sports fencing provides a strong yet unobtrusive barrier. Twin horizontal wires ensure that the system is especially suited to high impact situations such as ball courts or school playgrounds. Efficient manufacturing processes ensure that the system is long lasting at an affordable cost.

The system is supplied in fully welded panels allowing quick and simple installation. Betta Prom mesh Flat can be installed up to 5.0m in height making it an ideal and safe enclosure favoured by Local Authorities and schools. Full length clamping strips give a secure and vandal resistant fixing.

Betta Pro Mesh Flat systems are produced from galvanized wire with the option of a phosphate pretreatment and polyester powder coated Green (ral 6005) finish. All other other RAL colours available.

Mini soccer courts:

Optional 1200mm high panels can be added to the system to provide greater strength and rebound quality with either a traditional ply wood or a tighter, 50x50x6mm (double horizontal wires at 200mm centres), mesh panel.

 

A lighter gauge system, 'Betta Sports Mesh Light', is also available incorporating 50x50mm rolled welded mesh supported by strained line wires.

BETTA BALL STOP

High level containment of balls requires the use of specialized fencing rather than conventenial systems suited to perimeter security. Through our vast experience of the leisure industry, gained over the past 30 years, The Betta Group can tailor a ball stop solution to meet any requirement in any location.

Welded mesh, chainlink & netting can be used individually or as a combination to create a screen up to 25m in height. The supporting steel posts and foundations are calculated, designed and manufactured specifically for each project based on the locations ground conditions and wind loadings.

Welded mesh, chainlink and steel supporting posts are available in a galvanized finish with the option of a colour coating in Green (ral 6005) or Black (ral 9005).
Nettings are available in Green or Black.
